CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
Each student in grades pre 3y-11 will have an assigned room. He/she must go directly to that room so the catechists may start at the appropriate time. When class is finished, they are to leave the classroom quietly as other classrooms may not be finished with class yet. The catechist and students should conduct themselves in a proper manner. Catechists or students will not accept verbal or physical mistreatment from other students or catechists. We want the students to be able to share their ideas about their faith in a Christian environment. Disciplinary action will be taken for those students and catechists who do not abide by these expectations. (See Discipline policy)DISCIPLINE POLICY
The Catechesis and Faith Formation Department expect each student and Catechist to act in a proper and appropriate manner while attending CF. There is only a short period of time to learn and understand the material that is needed to be taught. Parents need to enforce to their children the importance of appropriate behavior before, during and after sessions. If you have not discussed this with your child(ren), please take the time to do so. Our discipline policy will be reviewed with the students at the beginning of their first class. It will be the policy of Catechesis and Faith Formation to work with the students and families to enable this program to function properly. If a student’s behavior disrupts the religious formation process,, the follow steps will be taken:
- Students, Catechists & Parents/guardians are expected to act in a polite and respectful Christian manner at all times. No swearing or verbal/physical abuse will be tolerated. “Please” and “Thank You” go a long way when dealing with others!
- State law prohibits smoking/alcohol in or on school grounds. Immaculate Conception Church will follow and enforce this policy.
- During the winter months, there will be no making or throwing of snowballs.
- The Director, Pastor, and other authorities will deal with any destruction or theft of property if necessary.
