RCIA
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTSRite of Christian Initiation of Adults, often abbreviated RCIA, is a process that adults use to become full members of the Roman Catholic Church. Whether they have no formal religious upbringing or are a Catholic seeking to complete their sacraments of initiation the process helps them to learn and grow in their faith.
Classes of Inquiry meet periodically until formal classes begin. The Inquiry classes are for welcoming, answering questions and exploring some very basic ideas on Catholicism. (Not required but recommended). Formal required classes for RCIA Candidates and their sponsors begin in November and meet weekly on Sunday afternoons from 1:00 – 3:00 pm in Room 3 of Corrigan Hall. Here you will be prepared through instructions, faith sharing and prayer for reception of your sacraments at the Easter Vigil.
Adults interested in participating in this process or if you want to find out more contact Father James Brinkman, 246-4652 ext. # 2 or Jo Germain, 246-5313. Inquiring by no means imposes obligation to attend the classes. NOTE: RCIA classes are not just for those wishing to receive sacraments but are a great resource of knowledge for those wishing to brush up on their Catholic Faith. Feel free to attend the classes and share your insight.
