Attendance is expected for all special events, except for the field trip. The special events are retreats, guest speakers, NET ministry, mass and reconciliation services. Your child will need to attend the entire time the event is taking place. This program runs Sept. – April. See back page for registration form & page 4 for contact person.Confirmation Preparation
The goal and objective for Confirmation preparation is to move the young adults into the adult church, helping the young adults to become active in their own faith by participating in the Church as a servant leader in mission as well as ministry. We accomplish this task by using a model similar to the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) process. The young adults will be invited to learn, form their faith, reflect on faith and go forth to serve the Mission of the church with Liturgical celebrations include Entrance and Covenant ritual, twilight retreat as well as the Sacramental Celebration itself. The confirmation team along with the sponsor and parent participation will guide the young adults on this major journey of their life.
ADULT FORMATION
The pastoral plan put out by the Bishops of the United States says, "To do their part, adult Catholics must be mature in faith and well equipped to share the Gospel, promoting it in every family circle, in every church gathering, in every place of work, and in every public forum. They must be women and men of prayer whose faith is alive and vital, grounded in a deep commitment to the person and message of Jesus." They have also said that Adult Formation is at the heart of catechesis and evangelization. In an effort to help people mature in their faith and become equipped to share the Gospel, Immaculate Conception offers classes, videos, faith sharing within a small group structure, and renewal through a review process.
Women’s Bible Study
Their studies focus on women of the bible, the Gospels as well as other books from the bible. The use of videos usually accompanied by participant's manuals and facilitated by one of the people of the group is the normal forum.
